Steven Jobs & Stephen Wozniak

God Bless these two individuals. For you see these two gentlemen were the founders of apple computers. My jubilation for these gentlemen rests with the current line of products apple computers is currently distributing. For Christmas I received an Ipod. It has the capacity to store up to 10,000 songs on it, and yes it is the size of a wallet. In the car, at home, basically wherever you go it can follow and provide you with so much music it is sickening. Awesome, simply awesome. If you can afford it get one because any hardcore music lover cannot, or shall I say will not be the same after it. I may not sleep for days creating playlists blasting the windows of my apartment. I just need to prepare myself because my eardrums will never be the same. I am off for now, that is to fall asleep to Led Zepplein's All of My Love on repeat all night long.

October 3, 1993

The medal of honor is awarded to a soldier, sailor, airman or marine who in actual combat, distinguishes himself conspicuously at the risk of life, by gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty. The last time it was awarded was for the actions of two soldiers performed on October 3, 1993. I can tell you of their story, but right now it is of no consequence. For you see I deem actions of those who have received this award (not many have in the course of our nation's history) as admirable because it is the highest honor which can be received in this country. Their heroism is inspiring and leads me to at least in part mimic their dedication to my fellow countrymen. The problem here, arises when I focus so much so on completing a task or favor a friend, neighbor, or family member might require I am completely oblivious to the condition of their heart. I may have been able to furnish all their immediate physical needs but there are items I cannot fix with a wrench or ride to the airport. While we all might have motivation in life, mine is to continue to become a better person, regardless of what may happen in my future. Why should I stop trying to become a better person? I believe that by being content with the person who we are at a certain age, let's say 25 for example, we sell ourselves short. Imagine the person you are now and then multiply by 2 to try and understand the concept of who you might become. I for one, am in awe, that is of myself when I turn 50. I may not have won the medal of honor by then but I would have been able to look back and say I did everything I could for the people I care about the most, but more important, I was able to care for their hearts. Another lesson learned, many to go, but go ahead and scratch this one off the list

Shakespeare's Influence

What are we bound to in life? Is it our hopes and dreams, future plans, future relationships? What if all these things collapse and we are left with an empty place. While the constant in our life remains the higher power through all of this. It is still human to garner certain earthly materials, feelings, expectations. If we had perfect faith we might not require anything else, but by definition being human denies us this utopian existence. While my life within the last few months has been a downward spiral, there are many things which keep me afloat amongst a sea of troubles. My faith is foremost atop this list, but excuse my ignorance as this is usually not enough. I must reflect upon an earthly constant which comforts my fears. Shakespeare wrote of it well and it is also referenced in the good book. Lest I forget, what may be the most important factor in my life. What is this you ask? Giving you the answer would be too easy, but by analyzing the title of my blog it will lead you on the correct path. You may not agree with this ideal, but forgive this soudoior (Old French) for his ramblings, my youth and inexperience keep me from seeing the truth on occasion. I leave you with a quote from the aforementioned author, or at least something from his writings.

"But if it is a sin to covet honour, I am the most offending soul alive."
